Push Buttons and Enclosures — technical overview

What this family covers

Everything that goes on the front of a panel and everything behind it: 22 mm push buttons, selector switches, emergency stops, pilot lights, the contact and LED blocks that sit behind them, and empty enclosures for building a control station where there is no panel door to use.

The range

  • Push buttons — flush, extended and illuminated versions, in metal and chrome series, with custom markings available on request.
  • Mushroom buttons — 40 mm heads including emergency-stop and special-function versions.
  • Selector switches — maintained, momentary and key-release, in two- and three-position forms, with illuminated versions.
  • Pilot lights — indicator lamps in the same 22 mm format.
  • Contact and LED blocks — normally open (WL22-BE101) and normally closed (WL22-BE102) blocks that stack behind the operator.
  • Push button enclosures — empty thermoplastic boxes with IP54 protection, multiple colours and cable gland options, for compact control stations.

Standards and construction

The range complies with EN 60947-5-1 and EN 60947-5-5, with IP65 protection to EN 60529 on the panel-mounted operators. Bodies are thermoplastic, heat and shock resistant, tested to IEC 60695-2-11 and passing the glow-wire test at 700 °C. Contacts use a silver alloy (Ag/Ni). Fixing ring tightening torque, rigid and flexible wire cross-sections and pre-insulated ferrule sizes are all listed in the catalogue tables.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a maintained and a momentary selector?

A maintained selector stays in the position it is turned to. A momentary selector returns to its rest position when released, so the circuit is made only while the operator holds it.

What protection rating do the operators reach?

IP65 to EN 60529 for the panel-mounted operators. The empty push button enclosures are rated IP54.

Can buttons be supplied with custom markings?

Yes. Custom markings on the button face are available on request, alongside the standard marked versions.
