Panel Accessories — technical overview

What this family covers

Panel accessories are the parts that turn a set of devices into a finished, maintainable panel: the entries cables pass through, the conduits and ties that hold them, the lugs that terminate them, and the bars and insulators that carry current between them. It is the largest family in the catalogue because a single panel uses dozens of these parts.

Cable glands

Glands seal the point where a cable enters the enclosure and take the strain off the terminal.

  • Polyamide glands — metric thread to EN 60423 or PG thread to DIN 40430, operating from −20 °C to +100 °C and up to +150 °C short term.
  • Brass glands — nickel-plated, metric and PG, with the same thread standards and a −20 °C to +100 °C range, up to +150 °C short term.
  • RJ45 glands — polyamide PA6 V2 body with a TPV seal made for RJ-45 cables, so a data lead can pass through a sealed entry with its connector.
  • Threads are supplied in zinc-coated steel as standard, with brass, stainless steel and 8.8 grade steel available on request. Halogen-free versions are available on request.

Conduits and cable management

Spiral conduits in PVC, polypropylene, split and non-split forms, PA6 UV-resistant conduit for outdoor and on-vehicle use, and V0 conduit where flammability class is specified. Conduit glands and clips fix the conduit to the surface and into the enclosure; cable ties and self-adhesive or screwed tie mounts hold the bundles, with halogen-free material and a cold-resistant structure.

Current-carrying and fixing parts

Cable lugs, copper busbars, low-voltage standoff insulators and medium-voltage cable cleats. The cleats are tested to IEC 61914:2015 and are suitable against high short-circuit levels — the force that throws cables apart during a fault is what cleats exist to resist. Document pockets and panel-mounted power sockets complete the range.

Frequently asked questions

Which gland thread should I specify, metric or PG?

Metric threads follow EN 60423 and are the modern default for new panels. PG threads follow DIN 40430 and are specified when matching existing equipment or an established plant standard.

Are halogen-free versions available?

Yes, on request, for the glands and for the cable tie mounts. Halogen-free material is usually specified where smoke toxicity in a fire is a design constraint.

What makes medium-voltage cable cleats different from a cable tie?

A cleat is engineered to hold cables in place during a short circuit, when the electromagnetic force between conductors tries to throw them apart. The range is tested to IEC 61914:2015 for that duty.
